Cancellation, refunds and the notice you give
What a cancellation costs follows the notice given, measured against whether she has set out; a returned hour, or a smaller real loss, reduces what is kept.
On a booking with a deposit behind it, the notice you give is the only thing that decides what is kept:
- more than twenty-four hours before the booked time, the whole deposit returns;
- inside the final twenty-four hours, while she has not yet left, half the deposit is kept as fee already earned and half returns;
- once she has set out for your door, every euro of the deposit counts as fee already earned.
Two things reduce even that. Should another guest book the hour you let go, all of the deposit comes back. And if you can show that the real loss was smaller than the share kept, only the smaller sum is kept. No guest who cancels is ever pursued for damages.
Without a deposit
Nothing is paid ahead when a returning guest asks for an hour or two later that same day at an address in the city. Cancelled before she sets out, it costs nothing at all. Cancelled once she is on her way, it costs the share of the fee her journey represents, and no more.
A worked night
Two hours for half past eleven, a first booking, confirmed with half of the two-hour fee. Cancelled the afternoon before, that half comes back untouched. Call it off at ten, with her not yet out of her own door, and the deposit is halved, one half counted as earned and the other sent back to you. Called off at a quarter past eleven, when she is already halfway to your street, all of it is kept, and it comes back only if a later guest claims that hour.
When the house cannot deliver
If the house cannot perform the booking, you choose between the deposit back in full and credit for a later date. If the therapist you chose cannot come, you are told as soon as the house knows, and you may name another woman from the roster, the reply saying who is free, or take the deposit back.
